Clipper Products maintains inventories of the standard products shown at this web site, as well as sample inventories of new products being test marketed. In addition, we can modify standard products or develop entirely new products to meet unique customer requirements. For example, a custom cart may simply be a standard cart with a company logo on it, or a custom tube set may use unique extrusion molds available only for a specific customer. Whether custom or standard, all products from Clipper Products have the same great quality and attention to detail.

Three important factors when considering custom solutions are lead time, initial investment, and minimum order quantity. Lead time is the elapsed time from creation of a new design, through development and approval of a sample, to delivery of product. It typically requires 60 days to make a new mold for a plastic or metal part and to produce several samples. Add time for evaluation and subsequent production, and the entire process can involve 4-6 months. Initial Investment is the cost for special molds, fixtures, and design services. Minimum Order Quantity is primarily determined by machine setup costs, minimum material purchases, and shipping costs. In some cases, it would not be economically feasible to undertake a custom solution when there is a readily available standard solution alternative. Telescoping tube sets can be designed and manufactured to deliver a unique product. For example, the width of a standard tube set can be increased by changing the width of the handle and tube receiver. Or, a custom extrusion mold can be made to produce tube sets with a one-of-a-kind cross section.

Custom Plastic and Metal Case Parts

Custom molds can be made for unique designs of many parts, such as recesses, receivers, wheel housings, etc. Plastic honeycombed material can be custom cut and included with tube sets and wheels for a complete transport solution for cases and luggage.
